How to Make Baked Pork Chops with Sliced Apples and Cinnamon Brown Sugar Glaze for a Kid-Friendly Dinner


Everyone needs a super easy and tasty dinner in their arsenal. You really can't go wrong with any pork chop recipe. However, doesn't it get redundant sometimes? Making the same ole thing. Try cooking with fruit!

This dish compliments the flavors of the meat and the fruit along with a touch of spice. You could serve this over brown or white rice. Add your favorite veggie and call it a meal!

Baked Pork Chops with Apples

Ingredients

  1. 2 Apples, peeled, cored and sliced

  2. 4 Boneless center cut pork chops salt and pepper to taste

  3. 4 tablespoons of butter

  4. 4 tablespoons of brown sugar

  5. 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

  6. 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg

  7. 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°, layer apples on the bottom of a casserole dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

  2. Add olive oil to a medium skillet on medium high. Sear on both sides for 2-3 minutes for that crispy outer layer.

  3. Lay chops on top of the apple slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  4. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, stirring constantly. Pour sauce over the pork chops and apples.

  5. Bake uncovered at 350° for 35-40 minutes.
