Delicious Sweet and Salty Fries: The Ultimate Sandwich Sidekick
This Baked Sweet Potato Fries recipe is easy to prepare without putting in a lot of time and effort.
You do not need to peel your sweet potatoes before making fries. The skin is a good source of fiber and nutrients, and it adds some texture and flavor to the fries. Just be sure to rinse the potato really well if you leave the skin on.
Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries
Ingredients
1 lb sweet potatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a large baking sheet with cooking spray, or line with parchment paper.
Slice potatoes into 1/4-inch-wide sticks.
Transfer chopped potatoes to a large bowl of cold water. Soak for 30-60 mins. Then, drain the water and put the potato sticks on a clean towel to dry.
Mix together cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix sweet potatoes with olive oil. Then, add dry mixture and stir until potatoes are completely covered.
Transfer sweet potatoes to the baking sheet in an even layer. Use two baking sheets if needed.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 min. Then, flip each sweet potato fries and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until crispy.
When the potatoes are ready, remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle fries with salt or your favorite herbs.
For extra crispy sweet potato fries, leave on Broil for 3 minutes
Notes:
It's best to soak the potatoes overnight.
Be sure to place the potatoes in an even layer, it affects the crispiness of potatoes.
If sweet potato fries don’t fit in an even layer on a baking sheet, use one more baking sheet.
